Husband and wife tandem Kevin and Sandra Usleman conducted a simple yet unique baby shower for their best friends, husband and wife Scott and Kristina Rehling in commemoration of the latter?s plan to adopt a child from the Gladney Center for Adoption’s Ethiopian program.
According to the press release, the Uslemans decided to hold a music concert considering that the Rehlings are music lovers. Basically, guests had to buy tickets for the mini concert instead of the usual giving of baby shower gifts.
The proceeds that were amassed from the event will be used to buy food and clothes for the orphans in Ethiopia.
“Our goal is for Kristina and Scott to deliver a check to the Ethiopian orphanage when they arrive to meet their new daughter, Shymin. The orphanage is in dire need of many items we take for granted everyday: items like hot meals, medicine and clean clothes,? Usleman said in the press release.
The concert took place last November 21 and it was filled to the rafters, thanks to the special appearance of known guitarist and vocalist John Pointer, CJ Hauptemeier and Patrice Pike.
The Rehlings are looking forward for the arrival of their little girl from Ethiopia and considers her a blessing to their family.
